Looks like facebook faced a huge number of closure of accounts after they changed their privacy policy about the content on the site.
Now, facebook have reverted back to the previous terms of service and shows a "We are sorry" message to members when they try to delete their facebook account.
Are you deleting because you are concerned about Facebookâs Terms of Service? This was a mistake that we have now corrected. You own the information you put on Facebook and you control what happens to it. We are sorry for the confusion.
