Html stands for: hypertext markup language

Requirements for html coding and viewing:

Html dont need any server to be run or displayed.

Although HTML can be edited using any text editor, such as notepad, but there are many other tools available, some free and some commercial which help in fast easy creation of HTML pages such as Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc.

For saving the HTML pages, you can use either htm or html extension.

If you are using notepad or any other text editor for saving the pages, please make sure that while saving, you select "all files" as the type of the document and give .htm or html as the file extension.
