Well as safari currently don't support opening any new page in a new tab, we can get some plugins which work perfectly to do so.

One of such plugin is called "Saft". You can get that for a small price or other than that there is free alternate to that for only tabbed browsing called "SafariStand".

Some people found saft to be a pain, so much that they couldn't uninstall it even, heres how to uninstall saft from safari:

Quit safari

Run the saft setup, and select "Install as inputmanager plugin"

Goto main drive > library > inputmanagers

Delete "saft" folder from there
