Well, many new users get confused about not having the tap enabled by default in mac OS.

To turn it on in do this:

--> goto system preferences

-- > click keyboard and mouse

-- > get to trackpad option

-- > select "clicking"

and your track pad is now able to click

Also select "tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click" if you want to right click by tapping with two fingers on the trackpad in MAC OS leopard.
